CLaCS Laser Masterclass: Hands-on Training in Laser Treatment of Leg Veins

CLaCS Laser Masterclass: Hands-on Training in Laser Treatment of Leg Veins

Spider veins and reticular veins are among the most common reasons patients see a vein specialist, and many want treatment without surgery. CLaCS is one of the most effective ways to treat them, and it is a technique best learned with your hands, not from slides.

What is CLaCS?

CLaCS stands for Cryo-Laser and Cryo-Sclerotherapy. It combines transdermal laser (typically a 1064 nm Nd:YAG) with sclerotherapy, while the skin is cooled to protect it and keep treatment comfortable. Together, the laser and the sclerosant treat feeder veins and visible telangiectasias in the same session, without incisions.

What the masterclass covers

The VA Academy CLaCS Laser Masterclass is a two-day course with Dr Mohamed Hagag, consultant vascular surgeon and lecturer at Ain Shams University Faculty of Medicine, who specialises in leg veins, pelvic veins and vascular birthmarks.

Day 1: theory

  • The basics of laser and light, and how they act on vessels
  • Diagnosis: assessing the patient and mapping the veins
  • Choosing the right protocol for each patient
  • The CLaCS technique, and the newer PPR technique: when to use each
  • Combining sclerotherapy (including glucose) with laser
  • Laser treatment of vascular birthmarks

Day 2: hands-on

  • Practical work on Diode and Nd:YAG lasers
  • Supervised treatment of real patients
  • Choosing suitable cases and building an effective treatment plan
  • Managing challenges and complications with confidence

Who is it for?

Vascular surgeons, dermatologists, and plastic and aesthetic doctors who want to offer laser treatment for leg veins, or improve the results they already get. Doctors such as Dr Heba El Shaery have combined it with our Doppler and EVLA courses to build a complete vein practice.

Where and when

The masterclass runs at our centre in the 5th Settlement, Cairo. See the next dates under Upcoming hands-on courses on our home page, or message us on WhatsApp at +20 105 592 5225 to reserve a seat.
